I'm reasonably certain it's 3/8" NPT.  For example, MMC P/N 1072A22

That would apply to both gearbox and engine sump, for later TR3 through the
end of TR6, and Stags.  Probably also the differential if your differential
has a plug (but I think only early cars had diff drain plugs).

The TR2 and early TR3 used a different plug for the engine sump, that had
parallel threads and a fiber washer.  I don't know what it was offhand.
They still used the NPT plugs for the gearbox, though.
