Ray, as I recall the original topic of the thread was the cost of collectors
insurance VS the cost of insurance that allowed an owner to drive as a daily
driver instead of on an occasional basis. I believe that Geico was mentioned
in that the writer thought the rates to be too high and was asking if anyone
knew of a better deal. It certainly had nothing to do with being hit by a
Geico issued vehicle and whether a claim would be paid.
My post on the subject was in response to a lister (it may well have been you)
who wrote something to the effect of just buy the collector car insurance and
if you get into a wreck just tell them you were on your way to your mechanic.
I disagree with that advise and I stand by my opinion. Fraud is fraud no
matter how you try and sugar coat it. It's a simple concept, play by the
rules.

Ray, what's your point? If I was in an accident that was caused by another
I would expect them to have insurance or pay for the damages too regardless if
was Geico or another company and regardless of the coverage I was carrying on
my vehicle.

Point being that if you can substantiate the value of a claim the insurance
company should pay without a quarrel. I was merely offering anecdotal evidence
that Geico was not hardassed about the claim in the least. And they were not
using an outside adjuster like some companies do who will sometimes arch their
eyebrows at the bodyshop unless their palm is greased. Wasn't the original
subject of this thread Geico and their method of evaluation of value? :-)
