This is the same Shelby who after observing that the LeMans
Tiger was almost as fast as his 289 Cobras, has his mechanics
rebuild the 260's after qualifications for Rootes.  Interesting
both suffered engines failures.  None of the 289's had the
same problem.  Sabotage???  Of course Shelby denies any
knowledge.

It was Uncle Henry Ford who unloaded 4000 surplus 260's
on the unsuspecting Lord Rootes, knowing the 260
was upgraded to the 289.
