Converting a 260 to a 302

Could someone briefly outline the steps necessary to change the 260 to a
302?

Is it worth it or should I just get a different engine altogether? Isn't the
block the same (or are the later versions of the block better)?

If it is just the idea that it needs to be rebuilt with 302 heads,
performance cam and some other items, wouldn't it be pretty painless?

Hard to believe that the HP boost is so dramatic.
