This was a bunch of years ago, but one of my local auto parts stores used to 
stock the very adapters you need.  This was not one of the glitzy national 
chain type places, but a local outfit that did much of it's business with trade 
folks, and tolerated us hackers.  So hunt around, you may find what you need.
