Tigers,

A caution note on clutch hydraulics rebuild/replacement. Lucas, now
owner of Girling, has been slowly reducing the number of "stocking part
numbers" it carries. The new clutch master cylinders come with an
assembled input push-rod, all nicely sealed with a rubber boot and outer
wrapping. The end is nicely threaded, and a fork is supplied to clamp
between two supplied nuts to hold it at it's proper length.

Unfortunately, there is no way this assembly can be made short enough to
actually fit the pedal holes (choice of two for leg length).

So do NOT throw away your old unit. You will need the old push shaft
that is one piece and the correct length.

You need to unwrap the protective tape, which seemed too large to fit
the available space anyway, the seal cap, circlip, and pull the threaded
stem off.

The new rubber boot, properly wet with hydraulic fluid, can be made to
fit over the "button" end of the old rod. Yes, it will stretch without
breaking, when new.

Reassemble with the circlip back on, and the outer sleeve, if you think
you can, and stick the fork holding pin back through the pedal hole of
your choice.

Note: Some Tigers did NOT have two holes for pedal adjust.

Good luck.

Steve
