Jim,

I'm going to have to differ with you on this one. While the length of the
adjustable rod between the cylinder and the actuating fork is adjustable,
this does not adjust the clutch pedal free play or "gap". It only adjusts
the position of the piston in the bore. When you release the clutch, the
clutch arm, and only the clutch arm, is what pushes the piston back into the
bore. It doesn't go one millimeter farther into the bore than where the
clutch arm stops moving, so the piston inherently rides on the clutch arm
with no lash. If you want lash, you have to add some means like a return
spring.
