In stock form, my MK-1 had an adjustable rod between the clutch slave
cylinder and the actuating fork (as seen drawn in the manual). The text in
the factory shop manual says on page 9 (section D) the Clutch pedal has no
adjustment...WRONG!
The drawing as seen on page 7, section D of the same Factory shop manual,
part number 28 refers to the push rod itself: however, the picture "points"
to the rod/adjustor assembly. This is adjustable over quite a large range.
There must be a gap when the clutch (car) is at rest, no matter what the
"official" book says.
At some point, Rootes added a spring paralleling the slave cylinder, to
assure it was returning to "home" on their 4-cylinder cars: it might be a
good idea to add the same on a Tiger, but unless their is a gap (what they
call lash) it alone, still will not unload the throwout bearing.
