To get the window handles off:
Lever apart the handle and the black plastic thingy beneath it.  This will
 enable you to see the end of a pin that holds the handle to the shaft.  Use
 something long, thin and pointy to push this pin out.  Hunt around on the
 floor for 20 mins trying to find the pin.  No special tips for re-assembly,
 it's just awkward, a pair of long, thin-nose pliers helps.

Other questions - sorry, can't help you on those.  If the door strike plate is
 hard to move just because of tough screws, invest in an impact driver
 (screw-driver type thing with switchable ends - hit it hard with a hammer and
 it twists).  These will shift anything, as long as the screw head isn't
 completely mangled.
