Concerning oil use -

I tend to get through around 1 litre every 2000 miles or so.  This is in a
 1500, doing 60 miles every weekday, 80% on dual carriageways and motorways at
 speeds of 70-80 mph.

Whether this is 'normal' I don't know, but it's not enough to worry me, and
 sufficient to keep the underneath of the car well rustproofed!
