Thanks to all for the input on the weed trimmers.
I bought an Echo trimmer today. Model 2100. Medium duty (can handle a
blade) straight shaft. Was $199 at Home Depot. Just used it. Works
great, lightweight, well balanced. Fired on the first pull (choked), then
started on the second pull.
While there I also checked out the new line of John Deere trimmers. These
are the same trimmers that are carried by the John Deere dealers, not just
a Home Depot special. Sorry to say that it is a Homelite, just different
stickers and green instead of red. Stay away from these.
