This is a failed harmonic balancer, I am guessing. The rubber has given
way, & the 2 parts have seperated. Not a pleasant happening, but not
unheard of. Somebody, somewhere, rebuilds them, but its simpler just to
buy another one. See favorite suppliers on my web page mgbv8.com .
