Restoration Manual" for 100% accuracy as I know there are mistakes in it.
For starters, the method of running the piping under the door latch sticking
plates and around the fascia is completely wrong. The piping should be kept as
one piece. Where it goes under the door latches, the seam is opened up, and a
portion of the cord cut out. The piping then stays as one piece, goes under the
door striker plate, lies flat, and hides some of the body work. Check the
original backing plates under the striker plate and you will find a small nail
hole in the recess of the plate to allow a tack to hold the piping down.
