Bill Fink, the long-time Morgan importer in California (he kept the flow of
Morgans coming in the 1970s and 1980s by engineering and installing a propane
conversion and side intrusion beams, higher bumpers, etc.) had the red SLR
until a few years ago. I saw it when I visited his other location in Bodega
but it?s in Europe now, seeing some track time with the other two
Morgan-chassis?d SLRs and the one TR-chassis?d example. He still owns the
original Plus 8 prototype, which used a Plus 4 (originally TR-powered) chassis
and body and was fitted with a Buick or Olds engine because the Rover versions
weren?t available yet.
