thanks all for the input, once again.. I am heading to the auto shop this
evening to get my basket full of goodies to give it a shot tomorrow. This does
beg three additional questions.
1.) Recommend getting the EI Dizzy and replace the points one that I have?
2.) Currently have the old design oil filter, upgrade to a modern oil filter?
3.) Have the orginal radiator (I think 2 core) upgrade to something newer?
Thanks again. Oh and for the ones wanting to know if I want to sell it
(cheap), I have had the car since college (about 20 years) so I would like to
keep it :-)

I'd pull the plugs and check them. Before reinstalling the plugs, I'd
disconnect the power to the coil and spin the motor over with the
starter until you see some oil pressure on the gauge. This will insure
that all of the bearings have oil and won't be dry if the engine
starts quickly.
