You'd have to use a U20 front cover as the waterpump mounts to it and the
cylinder head also bolts to it at the front. I suppose you could put a hole
in the front cover with an oil seal and something protruding out from the
jackshaft. You'd have to do the same with the cam which gets a little
strange as you'd need to put the oil seal in the valve cover?
I'd still like to see some better pictures of Craig Hoopers U20 with the
belt drive. Any of this is very Rube Goldberg though as you can do an
engine swap for less money and still make more power at the same time.
Oh well,

I wish I had a U20 in front of me, but how about using the lower chain to
jackshaft and cover from a 1600, then use a belt up to the head with the
crank pulley on the dry side. The head would have to have a plate/seal
around the cam to block oil. Head to belt clearance still may be an issue.
Just an idea - Ok, back to my real job.

If you do that, add pistons and a set a valves to your next order from the
vendors. Belts soaked in oil don't work for long.

Therefore, all someone has to do is find the right toothed pullys
from the right donor car that will fit inside the U20 front cover
and then arrange a spring loaded tensioner mounted to maintain
tension on the back (smooth) side of the toothed belt.
