That's the thing about Roadster owners.... you get ALL types here... and most
co-exist peacefully ( don't blow it for me here, guys <wink>) Most of the
custom mods start out of desparation in keeping a cool little car on the road
- and it goes from there. Many owners ( especially before the widespread
availability of the internet and resources such as this list) felt they were
alone in the roadster world and had to "wing it" on their own - hence custom
mods.

My guess is that *most* of the roadsters out there are closer to stock than
the recent threads on the list imply. The thing about the datsun crowd is
that they are typically NOT bogged down with that last little anal detail and
prefer to spend more time actually driving their cars than chasing down that
last "factory correct" $700 crescent wrench for the toolkit or making sure
that their jack is painted "Sky Type-S" for Oct production vs. RAF "Duck Egg
Blue" for Sept. ( can you say jag-U-ar owners ?!?!?! ) Beisdes... Japan had
( still has ! ) this nasty habit of using up parts they had lying around...
trying to decide just what is "correct" for some items is just plain useless
and not worth the hassle.

Anyhoo... try to make it to the shows.... Solvang, Shasta, etc. You'll see
"concourse" Roadsters... and plenty of them !
