I forgot about Naval Jelly. They also make Aluminum Jelly for mill
finished aluminum that's badly oxidized. I was dealing with rust stains
more so than rusted metal. Something I forgot to mention was that I
didn't let this stuff sit very long before rinsing it thoroughly and then
drying the area with compressed air. In addition, I pulled the wiring
harness up and out of the way and made sure that the harness did not get
sprayed with either the cleaner or the rinse water.
I'm also going to repaint everything later on this year after the other
car's up and running. Maybe by then my cuticles will have recovered. <G>
