Daniel,
Don't scrub too hard! It sounds like you may have a windshield that the
laminate between the glass is fogging with age. This happens to all safety
glass made back then. It makes the glass look dirty and you're right, ...
it looks like hard water stains.
Two solutions:
New windshield
or
Live with it!
I guess it depends on how high off the chair your wallet supports you.

Hi All
So I am finally getting around to putting the windows back in.
I should have the car weather proof by summer ;)
My original window glass is dirty. I have scrubbed it with windex
but it is still spotty. It looks like old hard water deposits on the
glass.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to really really clean
30 yr old glass??
