Well, let's see ---
Too much grey to be what you guys would consider "middle
age". I turn 60 on Saturday and plan to bail out of the "ed Biz"
soon, maybe next year. Macho? With a last name like mine? I am a
male of English/Welsh/Scottish/French/Swiss/ Native American
extraction, all lines of which go back in this country before 1776.
I'm a " 'murican". I have to smile when by British friends call me
"Yank", since those ancestors of mine who did fight in the "Civil
War" (neutral), "War of the Rebellion" (North), "War between the
States" (South), fought for the Confederacy. Many didn't fight any
more than they had to, and I am proudest of them.
My past history includes an MGTF and a Morgan 4/4; my current
interesting cars include a '65 MGB roadster (tourer), a '53
Studebaker Starlight Coupe, and a '28 Ford Model A Sport Coupe. I
have a 450 Suzuki which is a little different from my first
motorcycle, which was an Indian.
My wife and I enjoy taking the B out on a moonlit night with
the top down and cruise the county roads. You can really see the moon
and stars here in corn and soybean country.
I do quite a bit of work on my own cars, but my Ph.D. is in
plant biochemistry/physiology, so it doesn't help me understand Lucas
electrics. I rely on you guys for help. I hope this message isn't
too long -- you did ask. Besides, you know what happens when you get
older. Did I say that I would be 60 on Saturday? Nurse, it's
getting cold out here.
