13.  STOCK Preamble:  Except for modifications authorized below, Stock
Category cars must be run as specified by the factory with only standard
equipment as defined by these Rules.  This requirement refers not just
to individual parts, but to combinations thereof which would have been
ordered together on a specific car.

"as specified by the factory" does not include putting the mirror in the
glove box unless that particular configuration is mentioned in the owner's
manual.  On my Syncro, there is a roof rack.  The owner's manual says you
can operate the car without the lateral bars in the rack.  This means that
you can autocross the car either with or without the bars, because either
configuration is specified by the factory.  (So I took them off and sold
them to Bob Tunnell.)

You can run a Miata with the headlights up or down because either
configuration is specified by the factory.  You can't run it with one
headlight down and the other halfway up, because this configuration is not
specified by the factory.
