9534 miles (by the odometer, so give or take a bit) over 39 days when we
took a solo lap of the country in fall '03, starting and ending near
Seattle. Longest day was about 650 miles trying to make up time lost to
a seized rear hub in Wyoming. Quite the trip: Seattle to Bangor, Maine
(by as northern a route as we could reasonably find - stops at Mt
Rushmore and Mackinac Island and Newton Falls, et al), south to
Jacksonville, FL (by mostly back roads, New England, Asheville, Savanah
and Charleston were highlights. Best lobster was had in Noank Conn. at
Abbot's), west through New Orleans, up to Kansas, over to Colorado, then
back to the upper left by the most direct route. Fall foliage in New
England was gorgeous (and the original excuse for the trip). Only
stopped at 1 fast food joint, and that's 'cuz nothing else was open.
I'm feeling the urge to do it again!

The next longest was going to Triumphest last year - about 1700 miles
round trip, two days down, two days there, two days back. What a blast!
