Dave -

For that S-shaped piece just after of the door I made a simple jig that
clamped in a vise to hold the metal piece while I wrassled the leather into
shape.  Leather was soaked awhile in hot water and a heat gun used
(carefully) to keep it workable.  The metal piece was nailed to the jig
temporarily to hold it tight.
