Got to disagree=E2=80=A6. I=E2=80=99ve got about 10 years of real world dri=
ving with a GPS speedo=E2=80=A6. Can anyone top that? And I=E2=80=99ve neve=
r had it cut out for any reason that was noticeable=E2=80=A6.. and even if =
it did due to trees or hills or valleys=E2=80=A6. So what=E2=80=A6 would it=
really affect how I was driving or how you drive? Am I suddenly a crazy dr=
iver because my speedo doesn=E2=80=99t work?? Like all of you I check my ga=
uges regularly,,, but only the small gauges=E2=80=A6. Oil pressure, water t=
emp, Voltage=E2=80=A6 even gas=E2=80=A6. But I don=E2=80=99t check the spee=
do or tach that often=E2=80=A6.. I settle in to a speed based on traffic AN=
D sound=E2=80=A6. And along the road I go. =E2=80=A6 actually a pretty sill=
y discussion unless someone with a GPS speedo decides to jump in and prove =
me wrong=E2=80=A6. If you don=E2=80=99t have one, don=E2=80=99t bother to r=

I have a VDO GPS speedometer in my 1960 Land Rover. How well it works depen=

my roof or compromise door/windscreen seals so mounted mine on the windscr=
een in front of the rear view mirror. So a satellite needs to be in front o=
f me for the GPS to work. How well a GPS speedo works is determined by how =
much sky it can see. My mounting it inside on the windscreen I severely lim=
ited what my sensor can see.
On the other hand, the GPS has allowed me to determine speed by watching th=
e tach, so when my GPS cannot see a sat, I look at the tach to determine my=
speed.

One of the projects I never documented on my web site was the conversion of=
my tach to electronic and my speedo to GPS back in 2013. I sent both stock=
gauges to Morris at West Valley and he not only converted them but he had =
his =E2=80=9Cartist=E2=80=9D repaint the faces Magnolia.=C2=A0 The speedo n=
ow has GPS innards, a power lead and an antenna (hidden under the ashtray).=
I=E2=80=99ve tracked the speed against both my Garmin GPS and Waze and it=
=E2=80=99s spot on perfect. The beauty of a GPS speedo is there=E2=80=99s n=
o need for a tranny cable and it doesn=E2=80=99t care about the rear end ra=
tio or your tire size=E2=80=A6.. it just tracks you in real time.
