Your horn beeping intermittent I suspect, is possibly due to a horn wire the
goes through the steering column has some insulation that is worn on the wire
and is making contact with ground.

You can remove the wire & replace or repair as needed.

  Of course now it beeps by itself now and again.  Common bushing problem, or
something else?
