I used this type of insulation, but I put it on top of the transmission
tunnel as well as the floors. Very effective at cutting noise and heat.

Recently at a discount store, I bought a $15large roll of (1/8")
double-sided insulated(?) sound deadener/foil. What might be the 'group
think' be on adhering it to the underside of my transmission cover? With
the oil grime on the underside, I doubt I have a rust worry with it and the
top side is treated with POR-15 rust treatment.
Where else might I want to use it?

Thanks,
Paul Dorsey
