Johns cars has been around for a while. The real problem with that
conversion is the need for a 75 to 80 Monza donor. These cars aren't really
popular in
salvage yards any longer. If you do find one it will certainly need rebuilt.
The exhaust manifold from a 79 or 80 V6 powered Toronado or Buick Riv is
really going to be difficult.

A better solution would be a 3.8 or 3800 Buick V6 from a 88 and up GM front
wheel drive car. The FWD engines have the small bellhousing as opposed to the
RWD large Buick/Olds/Pontiac (BOP) pattern. These engines also have narrowed
cylinder heads to allow fitment into tight spaces. The exhaust manifolds are
tubular stainless and would be easy to modify. Virtualy nothing of the Johns
cars kit would fit.

Mixing a FWD engine and a Camaro V6 (Chevy motor ) trans could happen with a
custome/redrilled stick flywheel.

There was also a 3800 supercharged version with lots of low/midrange torque.

Someone on this list was transplanting a 3.3 Camaro V6 into a TR something,
any news if it is ready?
