and some of you said i blew it and i was now cursed. okay, you were right !
so the spicer joint on the front of my driveshaft blew at lunch today. being
that it is november, it's time for the v8 conversion. i've talked with ted
and he gave me some great info. now the rest of you. what are your
suggestions ? i'm ready to do this since the car is off the road. i've got
choices in engines. some fit, some don't. then there is the question of
engine mounts, driveshaft length, length of shifter extension, water pump
height. i need your valuable wisdom since i am going down a $2,000 road here.
while the engine is out (and if anyone wants to buy a good tr7 engine contact
me) i am going to have the car painted too. i need some kind of bright color.
a red or orange. what paint code is correct for a tr7/8 ? no, i am not going
to sell what i have $4k into for $2k and buy a tr8 for $6k. there's just
something about building this yourself. you really know your car and when
people ask you have that pride of 'yes, i built it myself' feel. agreed ?
lastly, i need horsepower, i live at 6900' and the altitude is a killer on
h.p. recommendations please. and thanks in advance. please be as detailed
as you can. larry
