Hi Gary,
Like me, I know this kind of carelessness kinda ticks you of.

I was taking my grandson over to his pal's house in the TR last week and as we 
were about to leave he noticed that the boot was open...you guessed it. 

With a mighty heave he tried to close it with the prop rod in place. It cracked 
the stiffner bead and twisted the deck around the hinge....YUK

Hope you get the car back to your satisfaction
