Afternoon all,

For lack of being in Carlisle ( my family is hating me for it as well ), I
am close to resolving the cold start issue and feel I should share the
results.

- I pulled the choke to long, as I said before and flooded the plugs

- every time I tried to start and couldn't I checked the plugs and they were
black and sooty. Too rich

- all of the voltages we right on the money, at the coil etc

So, clean the plugs and allow the motor to "dry" out and she would start
fine.

Back to the basics, put the carb mixture adjustments back to 1 1/2 full
turns from top of the jet assembly. Ran the engine, idle too low, set that
to approx 900. Did a 15 minute drive checked the plugs, still black. Cleaned
them again, leaned the carbs 2 "flats" and did another run. Checked plugs,
this time oh so nice tan colour :-)

Still getting a little sputter and hesitation on heavy acceleration, need to
check the timing again?

Thanks to all as always
David Templeton
