Hey you Guys!!!!
Here's my two pence...........
Bought a TR4A in 1989 for $2,300......put $15,000 in parts and outside work,
plus upmteen of my own hours into it........took 3rd Concours in Nationals in
1993, and it wasn't near perfect yet........wrong seats, wrong upholstery on
surrey top, etc, etc......so over the next few years have put in another
$3-4000 and a lot more time........and with a good wash, could probably do
well in competion.
They say, "Buy the most restored car that you can, cause you will be dollars
and time ahead, cause no one ever gets their money out of a
restoration!"..........
So I've got $20, 000 and 2-3,000 hours of my time in this car...........so,
if my time was worth $5 an hour.......I have $30-35,000 invested in this car.
I'd probably sell it for $17-18,000 if I HAD to.........
Sooooooooo...........if this Guy's got a Concours car..........the price may
not be too far off, Eh? Depends upon what quality you want, what your time
is worth, and how bad the guy wants to sell..........I ain't getting a
divorce yet...........:-}.................!
