My TR4 bonnet was bare (it is a brand new 'universal bonnet' i.e. no holes)
but now is lettered. I went down to my nearest Triumph spares outlet and
asked really nicely if I could measure a template from a bonnet they had in
stock. I took some paper and measured it up no problems. In my experience
the 'U' holes were not directly below the two holes for the TR4 shield badge
but offset by about 7mm (approx.)
BTW many thanks to Noel from Sportscar spares in Giraween, Sydney for
letting me use the bonnet.
