Curiously enough, this is yet another example of Triumphs
"de-improvement" under the scintillating guidance of Leyland.  The
earlier cars (TR2-4, don't know about beam axle 4A) _had_ drain plugs as
standard.  The drain plug got deleted, as did many things over the years
: fuel shutoff, trans dipstick, sediment bowl, fuel tank drain, cam
bearings, cable-less hood latch, racing screen mounts, quick disconnect
windshield, vent panel, priming lever, ... Even the speedo got moved
back to where the navigator couldn't see it (on LHD models).  This was
progress ???
