Help! I have a '79 TR7 with a 5 speed transmission, and a blown engine I
need to replace. I have Stromberg duo carbs. I do have the original factory
owner's manuals for the car and the shop manual, as well as a Haynes manual.
Randall said someone changed their engine with a Rover engine. Does
anyone know which one and what year? I have a Rover available to me,
although it's sight unseen and my son-in-law knows nothing about the car
including the year. He repairs and sells donated cars for a self-support
church group.
My mechanic suggests a Buick V8 engine (he probably has one). He does
restorations himself for fun and shows them, or used to do so in Penn. I
would like to be able to show the car as well as drive it.
