Hi,

I don't know how big the upper valve guide "bosses" are on a TR4 head, but
I know that TR6 engines can be easily modified for valve guide seals. In
fact, I think there is a Chevy V8 part that'll more or less "slip on". I
can get details if you'd like.

I'll go out on a limb and say that you probably don't need to mill the head
or do any cutting to get a valve guide to seal. I'd ask the machinist to
see if there is a part that'll fit w/o cutting. If that fails, drop me a
line... I'll ask another buddy that does a lot of Triumph work, and much is
done to TR3's etc. That is unless you have recieved your Jan '99 NET in the
mail. If so, turn to page 2 and look up "business members" and give Chuck
Giorgio a call.
