TR3 Crank Handle colour

Fellow Bretheren (and Sisteren):

I have just acquired a TR3 (traded a TR6 for it) and I have a starter hand 
crank which is devoid of paint.  I wish to paint it the original factory
colour.
Can anyone tell me what that colour should be?  I asked a friend who 
had a had a TR3 in the sixties and he said "Rust!"  That doesn't help 
much.  I guess I could leaving unpainted (for historical accuracy).

I can't use it anyway, the engine is missing the pawl (pall, paw'l ???) 
anyway.
