Peter,

I noticed the same thing when I put TRF ball joints on my TR6 - I
couldn't turn the wheels at all unless I used the steering wheel. Since
the wheels were easy enough to turn using the steering wheel, I figured
it was just stiff and would loosen up after a bit of driving. After a few
hundred miles, same result - still stiff. Since then I have driven 3,100
miles to Hudson, WI. and back with no problem. But then that's just
straight up I35 from Austin, TX., no turning involved - ha ha.

I discovered another problem with suspension parts. The rubber boot on
the tie rod ends split easily. I replaced both tie rod ends and after the
same few hundred miles noticed that one had a split rubber boot. I
figured I must have put too much grease in it. So I replaced it and
before I even had the car off the jacks the boot had split. I did mention
this to John Swauagger at the VTR. Don't know what will come of that.
