Hi Gang,

Can one of you experienced guys answer an exhaust question??

To my surprise, my new TR4 has a Monza type exhaust header as well has the
Monza pipes. No mufflers at all!! This is VERY loud and I what to go back
to original as fast as possible. To go completely stock I would have to
find a original TR4 cast iron manifold. Anyone got too many and wants to
sell it??

To complicate things the engine is from a TR4A. I think the TR4 or the TR4A
split manifold will work. My preference to go back to original TR4. Any
opinions??

Since I don't have a stock manifold, my short term plan is to cut the Monza
system just under the gearbox where the stock TR4 pipe would end and replace
the system from there back with stainless steel from TRF. Maybe this will
be a workable solution and I can keep the fancy header until I sort out the
manifold issue.

QUESTION: How does the stock hanger get installed. I have the new one and
it has a sort of long triangular shaped thick piece that is supposed to be
attached to the frame or someplace... may be the transmission brace. It has
a big bolt welded on for mounting. The PO must have discarded this to make
room for the Monza pipes which clamp farther back after the X-member. I
can't see much until the pipes are cut away.

I am having my local mechanic do the cutting and installing on Tuesday
morning. If I can't explain it to him I'm in big trouble

Thanks
