I have a 74 TR6 with Crane elec. ignition, Lucas sports coil, new plugs,
new distributor cap and new rotor. The car misfires usually when
accelerating or under load such as going up a hill. Doesn't do it all of
the time, just seems like it lately. Last week drove it to Schenectady, NY
(200 miles round trip) and it ran great. Drove it yesterday and it misfired
occasionly. Drove it to work today and it misfired the whole way.

When the elec ignition was installed the back of the rotor was hitting the
sensor and causing it to run very badly. I spanked its butt for
misbehaving, ground off some of the bottom of the back of the rotor and it
ran just fine.

The misfire I'm now experiencing is not like that. Its almost like a
stutter. It also seems to smooth out as the RPMs get higher (usually around
2500) with only an occasional misfire above that level.

Any thoughts?

Also, what is the Fram oil filter used with the spin-on adaptor?

Thanks for your help.
