Paul;
New anti-freeze should be introduced about every two years. As Egil stated
earlier, the anti-corrosion inhibitors lose their properties over time. The
coolant's ph balance changes which also leads to more corrosion and rust. Many
dealerships and other auto service facilities are recycling their coolant today
and should be happy to take your used coolant. Ethylene glycol does not break
down and therefore should not be released indiscriminately. Recycling cleans
out the contaminants, restores the ph level and re-introduces the rust
inhibitors- the finished product is then " good as new". A clean cooling system
is integral to a happy car.

Just my 2 cents,
Jeff Johnson
