O.K.  My opinion,

I removed my tank, took it to a readiator shop and had them tank it in a
hydrosonic? tank.  Clean as a whistle, no coting added at all.  I have
never had a gas tank that got semi-regular use rust.  Keep gas in it and
you should be fine.
