Art, you are right that only the TR4_A_s had the dual rear mufflers, but
only the "early" ones at that.
I have CT70921L with the dual rear mufflers, and CT72418L with the
single rear muffler. The later TR4As had a long muffler across the
back, similar to TR250s and TR6s.
I have never tried to fit an early TR4A muffler system to a TR6, as was
originally asked. However, I _can_ attest to the fact that the late
(1973 or so) TR6 with the dual pipe exhaust manifold uses _the same_
dual downpipe as both the early and late TR4As. When I learned the part
numbers were the same, I can remember ordering one for a late TR6 to use
on my TR4A. Cost was only $9.98, as I recall, but that was more than a
few years ago.
