i'll look at the comission plate and see, but i don't think the c is on 
the end of the commssion number, from memory, it's fm99248u feb 1979 and 
the paint code 93 and trim c71 are the only numbers and such on the 
plate.  the reason i remember is because of you wanting the info for 
your database and me getting the comm number off of the registration and 
it being too high of a number. i'll look again tonight just to be sure 
so we can save some confusion.

Larry,
Didn't you tell em the Commission Number is 99248U?  If So, according to 
my
reference material this is a Federal Car and not a California Car.  Now 
It
could be that it has been converted to California Emissions standards if 
it
was brought in from out of state.  However, if it has a UC suffix, it 
would
be a California Spit.  I don;t know what the current California 
standards
require, especially since the recent passage of that legislation.  It 
may
save you some headaches if you check into the requirements.
