and I just want to second Bill's opinion, you may as well get a
rebuilt Lucas, then it's a simple job to replace...BUT have the 
auto electric shop test your old one first, to  make sure it's dead.
Your non-charge problem could be somewhere else, may be worth the
trouble, if you're not sure already.  
   From my own experience, the only parts that die in alternators
are either the bearings, or the diodes, and a rebuild would take 
care of both of those...plus with that warranty, you can't go wrong.
