Ok...now I am sure, unfortunately, Lenny.  I dug out my later copy of
the factory workshop manual, and it states:

"Remove six bolts (four bolts early models) securing flywheel to
crankshaft flange."

So, unfortunately, I do need one.  Anyone got an extra 6-bolt flywheel??
