Spitfire drivers often do get out of the car smelling like gas. Likewise their passengers. The reason is the clincially documented preference of Spit drivers to eat beans and other triple-sugar foodstuffs not readily digested by the human intestine. Actually, a smell of gasoline probably indicates a leak somewhere. Check all your hose clamps for tightness, and the tank itself for possible leaks. Even a few drops of gasoline will stink to high heaven inside a little British Car. |
