My reply:

I've no way to get the commission #. Of course there are no bumpers
attached but it has one rectangular flat per side on the front where the turn
signals were, unlike my Mk I with two round ones per side so that makes it
a +. The dash is a racing one with a tach centered over the steering column,
and four small guages in the center section (oil pressure, oil temp fuel
pressure, water temp) surrounding a big red light (probably for low oil
pressure). Definitely not stock. All the switches are in a box on the floor
next to the battery box where the passenger seat was.

It has a roll cage in it rather than just a roll bar which I think is more
modern
than the '60s. The side protection bars are recessed into the driver's door.

There's also a white dash plaque with "19 70" on either side of
what
appears to be a mountain. I can't make out all the words below it but it's
something like "***** ***** Sports Car ***** *****" with the *s being
words. Another smaller line is beneath that too. Maybe the car was
hillclimbed in '70. That's what I did with my GT6 from '84 to '88 before I
crashed it. Some year soon I'll be racing it again I hope. I've only done
SCCA events in it or my TVR but there are some independent events in
New England that it could have run.

There are no extra lamps anywhere I can see and the number roundels are
only on the doors. I suspect that it's been repainted since the car looked
VERY clean inside and out. At the Glen Vintage race the car was not in
any of the races, just out on parade laps at lunch. Unfortunately I missed
him on the track so I have no pics of that.

Another strange thing about the car are the headlight areas. The steel has
been cut way back and plexiglass covers installed ala 240Z or E-Type
racers. The right one is perforated, presumably for intake air. I can't
believe that this modification ever made it through SCCA's tech for club
racing in either D or E Production or GT3. I've been an SCCA member
since 1975 and had my GT6 since '76 and believe me if I coulda' done this
legally I woulda' done it long ago. Either way- I can't believe it was raced
in
SCCA in this form (there's no SCCA stickers anyway).

I wonder if the driver's name is the current owner and I wonder if he is a
member of VTR?
