The compression readings I get in my TR4 fall within the range of
162 - 165. Based on the information presented by others, the
expected pressure is:
P = (CR x 14.7) - 14.7
Using 165 psi and solving for CR, I get 10.2, which seems pretty
high for a stock TR engine.
Am I doing something wrong here? Could it be a matter of an
inaccurate compression gauge (Sears best)? Why doesn't the Bentley
manual list expected compression readings along with all of the
other specifications? Should I simply be thankful that I have
compression at all and be quiet?
