Francois,

The external oiler is primarily designed to get oil to the rocker assembly
sooner during start-up. When the car is started the rocker assembly is last
in line to receive lubrication. There should be no loss of pressure when
using one of these devices. 

Incidentally, if you have some 1/4" copper tubing, two 1/4" 90 degree brass
compression fittings, some 5/16" thick wall brass tubing, a 5/16"-24 die, and
a soldering gun, you can make you own for about $3 (cost of aforementioned
materials).
