If I were doing this conversion (which I think Triumph should have done from
the start) I would use the TR7-8 5 speed.  It is very robust, bolts right up
and is easy to find (and find parts for).  Will it fit?  I don't know but it
will fit as well as a TR4-6 w/OD.

While I'm on the soap box...

If only

If only Tiumph offered the Rover V8 in the Stag.  Even only as an optional
power plant.  There would be lots of Stags around.  (Sigh)
